چکیده
Background As available data on implantation-related infections is contradictory, the aim was to identify predictors of penile prosthesis infection. Methods We performed an umbrella review and meta-analysis including systematic reviews with extractable data. Literature search done in two databases: PubMed Google Scholar. The participants were males erectile dysfunction regardless etiology who underwent implant surgery. Using a standardized form, three trained researchers reviewed each reference (systematic review) by title abstract. using Review Manager 5.4.1 (RevMan® 5.4.1).Results A total 78 identified strategies. Of these, 35 duplicates removed. Thirty-seven full-text then excluded after revision. Six 271,226 patients (156,553 study group 114,673 control group) included meta-analysis. analysis various adverse outcomes (infection). Among them glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) different characteristics implants. Conclusions revealed significant risk factors/predictors infection: levels; reoperation, associated type prosthesis. weighted mean HbA1c levels without 8.37% 7.17% respectively. OR as follows: first surgery/revision 0.36 (95% CI 0.29–0.45); antibiotic-coated/non-coated 0.47 0.31–0.72); malleable/inflatable 3.51 1.41–8.74).

Risk factors for type 2 diabetes mellitus: An exposure-wide umbrella review of meta-analyses
BACKGROUND Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a global epidemic associated with increased health expenditure, and low quality of life. Many non-genetic risk factors have been suggested, but their overall epidemiological credibility has not been assessed. METHODS We searched PubMed to capture all meta-analyses and Mendelian randomization studies for risk factors of T2DM. For each association, ...
متن کاملEnvironmental risk factors and Parkinson's disease: An umbrella review of meta-analyses.
BACKGROUND Parkinson's disease is a neurological disorder with complex pathogenesis implicating both environmental and genetic factors. We aimed to summarise the environmental risk factors that have been studied for potential association with Parkinson's disease, assess the presence of diverse biases, and identify the risk factors with the strongest support. METHODS We searched PubMed from in...

INTRODUCTION The large number of treatment modalities for patients diagnosed with Menière's disease (MD) complicates the selection of the best available treatment as the comparative efficacy of these interventions is not clear. We aim to identify the treatment or treatments with the highest efficacy of current pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments for MD. METHODS AND ANALYSIS We ...

BACKGROUND Oral human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is associated with oral cancer development. However, few epidemiologic investigations have focused on oral HPV prevalence in healthy individuals. The objective of this study was to provide updated information regarding oral HPV prevalence in patients without oral cancer worldwide. METHODS We systematically reviewed 29 studies reporting the ...

INTRODUCTION Penile prosthesis infections remain challenging despite advancements in surgical technique, device improvements, and adoption of antibiotic prophylaxis guidelines. AIM To investigate penile prosthesis infection microbiology to consider which changes in practice could decrease infection rates, to evaluate current antibiotic prophylaxis guidelines, and to develop a proposed algorit...
